About us and our farmers

Behio Tržnice started from a simple question: why should a tomato travel for a week to reach our table when something just as good grows a hundred kilometers away. So we went around farms near Prague, in Vysočina and in South Moravia, and made arrangements with people who still plant, pick and bake it all themselves.

Today we bring in vegetables from the Novák family in Polabí, honey from beekeeper Dvořák in Vysočina, sourdough bread from the bakery around the corner, plus cheese, eggs and jams from other small farms. It is not a random handful, it is forty-seven of them, and we know every one by name because we have been there in person.

How it works

You order in the morning, any time before noon, and in the meantime we collect what is needed straight from the farmers. In the afternoon everything comes together in one place, gets packed into crates and paper bags, and in the evening we ring your doorbell with a bag that still shows it was in the field or the henhouse that same morning.

Why we skip plastic

We pack vegetables in paper bags and send crates that are returnable, we take them back on the next delivery and put them back into circulation. It is not perfect, but we try to make sure shopping with us does not leave too much extra waste at your home.
